Poetry

I know this poetry page differs from the other pages,
in the sense that it has a different background, yadda yadda.
This is because I truly value poetry, mine and others, and
feel that it (and writing) deserves to be set apart.
Anyway, i'll stop rambling, and let you read
some of what i've written.

Drug in my System
Ain't Seen Mine
Come Down, Once Again

Untitled June 4th, 2000

She stared our at a world
That turned its gaze from hers.
She muffled her cries
By biting her lip
Because she knew they
Would not hear her.

She walked in a world
With the sun shining black,
And her feet made no
Sound on the pavement.

She dined in a world
And made light of their laughter,
But their smiles were as false
As her own.

She loved all her men
With a divinity divine
But few moved her to much passion.

She stared out at a world
That did not stare back at her,
But one day she caught a voice in
The crowd.

She listened for a while
And the voice became louder
And soon she was answering it back.

She talked with the voice
For many an hour
And ignored that the world ignored her.

She laughed with the voice
Feeling first of most awe,
And sometimes that brought her to tears.

She dined and she danced
With those false smiles people
But cared not as the voice answered back.

And she laughed and she cried
In the dead of the night
Thinking, how lucky am I, to have found this.

She stared out at a world
Where only one would stare back.
Not caring to muffled her cries
For they were of laughter.

And she called out to a world
Which had never heard her
Because she knew there was one
Who did.

She slept at night
Curled around herself,
Slept, and cared not that she lived
In a world that
Could not see
Nor hear
Nor care
About her.
Because she knew such a world could
Produce two such as they.
And that made all the difference
In the world.

Drug in my System

You’re the drug in my system
The bitter sweet of pot
Forget about the antidote
I’ll stick with what I got

I wanna kiss you softly
And smother you with lies
You’re a drug in my system
A needle in my thigh

I thought I’d kicked the habit
The drug was dead and gone
But you came back again
(your voice across the phone)
I’ve loved you all along

You’re the drug in my system
The buzz in my cocaine
How could you, would you, kiss me
I know, that sounds so lame

You drive me to distraction
Your face across my eyes
You’re the drug in my system
And the powder on my lies.

Ain't Seen Mine

a baby cries
the mother's fine
cold and bare
i aint seen mine

cackles harsh
lash and whip
tears stain red
helluva trip

can you see me
bothered blind bitch
you can't hear me
you godamn witch

baby's still cryin'
mum's still fine
we're all fuckin' dying
and i aint seen mine.

Come Down, Once Again

Look at all the little swirls
comin' around
comin' ‘round once again
and come down
come down to me
down to me once again (repeat)
and in the starlight flies
up to the skies
and sing to me (once again)
bring to me
your truth
and if the starlight calls
when will you go
will you go away
come down
come down to me come down to me
once again
banging in the streets
the pound of feet
coming to get you
and in the tavern lies
a broken man
spouting lies
spouting lies
and if the starlight calls him
will he go
when will he go
away
and if the starlight flies (cries)
up to the skies
sing to me
always
come down
come down to earth
come down to earth once again
come down
come down to me
come down to me once again
(badum dadum dadum, badum dadum dadum, bedum bedum bedum...)
come down
come down to me
come down to me once again
come down
come down to me
come down to you always...
